The railway sector began a strike this Monday, resulting in only 42% of the Rodalies minimum service trains running, according to Renfe, severely impacting commuters in the Barcelona area.

Union sources estimated the strike follow-up in Rodalies at 45.2%, although they clarified that many employees were assigned to minimum services. In the workshops, the follow-up was lower, standing at 35%.

"The minimum service trains that have not departed did so due to organizational errors."

Regarding high speed, the corridor between Madrid and Barcelona registered several cancellations. The AVE suffered three cancellations, Ouigo two, and the company Iryo failed to guarantee the circulation of about seven services on this line.
Renfe calculated that the overall strike follow-up was 11.6% during the morning shift of the group's entire workforce nationwide. For its part, Iryo specified that the cancellations of the 8:22h Madrid-Barcelona train and the 11:50h Barcelona-Madrid train were due to lack of staff, reallocating affected passengers.
