Renfe activated free 10-trip passes for Rodalies and Regionals this Tuesday, along with four new Avant services between Barcelona and Lleida, to improve mobility.

The railway operator Renfe has implemented the free ten-trip passes for the Rodalies and Regionals lines starting this Tuesday. These tickets, which are non-transferable, will be valid until February 24 or until the ten trips are consumed, and can be purchased at ticket offices and self-service machines. In the case of Rodalies, the same ticket can be used by several people.
This initiative, agreed upon with the Govern (Catalan Government), also includes four new special Avant services, also free of charge, connecting Barcelona-Sants, Camp de Tarragona, and Lleida-Pirineus. Renfe specified that the Regionals passes will not be applicable to the Avant Barcelona-Lleida services or the Avant Exprès Barcelona-Tortosa services.
Despite the Avant services being free, the operator reminded users that prior seat reservation is mandatory. This reservation can be formalized through the website, the mobile application, and the ticket offices at the stations of Barcelona, Tarragona, and Lleida. The schedules for the Avant services between Barcelona-Sants and Lleida-Pirineus include departures at 6 AM and 3:05 PM.
