The Generalitat de Catalunya has launched a call for rental payment aid for individuals over 65 years old, backed by a budget of 19 million euros, aiming to support their continued residence in their habitual homes.

This subsidy program, open for applications from this Tuesday until April 30, is designed for seniors who, while not facing imminent risk of exclusion, require financial assistance to maintain their housing. Monthly aid amounts will range from 50 to 200 euros, depending on the applicants' income.
Among this year's novelties is the option to delegate online processing to an authorized person, simplifying the procedure for many users. Furthermore, the caps on eligible rental prices have been increased, particularly for groups such as large families, single-parent families, or those with disabled members.
The maximum rental prices eligible for subsidies vary by geographical location. In Barcelona and its metropolitan area, the cap is set at 950 euros per month for a dwelling and 450 euros for a room. In the rest of the Barcelona province, these limits are 750 and 350 euros, respectively.
For the remainder of the Catalan territory, the caps remain unchanged from the previous year. In Girona, the limit is 750 euros for a dwelling and 400 euros for a room. In Tarragona, the amounts are 700 and 350 euros, while in Lleida and the Terres de l'Ebre, the maximums are 600 euros for a dwelling and 300 euros for a room.
For large families, single-parent families, or those with a recognized disabled member, the eligible rental cap is extended up to 900 euros per month across all of Catalonia. In the Barcelona metropolitan area, this limit is further increased, reaching 1,100 euros.
