Tània Corrons was sworn in as a councilor for Barcelona en Comú at the Barcelona City Council this Wednesday, succeeding the former leader of the formation, Janet Sanz.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the consistory, attended by Mayor Jaume Collboni and representatives from all municipal groups. Corrons expressed her commitment to municipal politics during a “convulsive social and political moment.”

"Doing politics, and doing it from city councils, is doing it from the center of conflict."

The new councilor affirmed that her work will focus on fighting for the citizens of Barcelona by offering concrete solutions, confronting growing polarization and anti-politics.
Mayor Collboni, in turn, asked Corrons for “commitment, dialogue, and humility” in the exercise of her duty, emphasizing that being a councilor is the greatest honor for a Barcelonian. He also highlighted the role of the consistory as the “first resource” for citizens.
