Yasmina Aulés Leiva recounts her experience of a planned non-epidural birth at the Casa Laietània center which, due to complications, resulted in an emergency C-section at La Maternitat of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

Yasmina Aulés Leiva had prepared thoroughly for a physiological birth at the Casa Laietània birth center at Hospital Germans Trias (Can Ruti). However, after 24 hours of her water breaking, she was informed she needed antibiotics, which prevented her from continuing the process in a space exclusively for non-medicalized births.
This situation forced Yasmina to move to her second option, La Maternitat of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. There, monitoring detected that her daughter was suffering, requiring an immediate emergency C-section.

"The first thing my daughter Júlia taught me is that you cannot control everything."
