The enrollment period for municipal nurseries and public childcare centers in Barcelona begins on Monday, May 4, offering 4,831 places for children aged between 4 months and 3 years.

The network of Municipal Nursery Schools (EBM) in Barcelona, along with the five public childcare centers managed by the Generalitat in the city, is opening its enrollment period for new students. This process, which starts on Monday, May 4, will be conducted online through the City Council's Virtual Procedures Office.
The total offer of places for new children is 4,831, and the overall capacity of the EBM network will expand to 8,993 places. This expansion includes the incorporation of a new school, the EBM Tramuntana, currently under construction in the former barracks of Sant Andreu, which will add 104 places with seven class groups.
Additionally, the EBM La Mar, located in the Barceloneta neighborhood, will increase its capacity from 63 to 100 places due to ongoing expansion works. The service with diversified or reduced hours will be maintained at the EBM Germanetes, in the Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample neighborhood.
For families unable to complete the online enrollment, there will be an option to request an appointment by phone or email at their first-choice school to complete the process in person between May 4 and May 15. Of the total places for new students, 538 are reserved for children with special educational needs, including disabilities, disorders, or severe social risk situations.
