A group of activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla will arrive in Barcelona tomorrow, May 23rd, to receive medical check-ups and rest following their detention by the Israeli army.

According to sources from the humanitarian mission, activists not from Catalonia will continue their journey home once they have rested. The group arrived in Istanbul on Thursday afternoon after being deported by Israel.
Some members described the moments following their detention as particularly harsh. The legal team Adalah, representing the activists, reported at a press conference that six participants of the flotilla had been subjected to "various forms of sexual violence" while detained. Additionally, other members sustained injuries from rubber bullets or stun guns, as reported by the legal team.
The activists plan to resume their journey to Barcelona once they have had the opportunity to recover and receive adequate medical attention.
