The state railway manager Adif has identified 648 points across the Rodalies commuter rail network in Catalonia that require detailed inspection, prioritizing coastal sections and areas with slopes.

The state railway manager Adif has so far detected 648 points on the Rodalies network in Catalonia that must be inspected, with urgent actions already underway at 31 locations, mainly focused on protecting cuttings and embankments.
More than 400 Adif technicians and operators, along with collaborating companies, identified these critical points in structures such as tunnels, bridges, platforms, and tracks. Attention is focused on lines with coastal sections (such as Barcelona-Vilanova-Sant Vicenç de Calders or Barcelona-Mataró-Maçanet).
Priority is also given to lines running through areas with more cuttings or embankments, including the La Garriga-Vic-Puigcerdà, Barcelona-Tarragona-Móra la Nova-Flix, Barcelona-Girona-Figueres, or Castellbisbal-Mollet routes. Over 500 detailed technical inspections have already been completed.

The action plan includes intensifying inspections in sensitive network areas and executing urgent repair works via emergency procedures at affected points.

These issues were discussed during a meeting on Wednesday between the Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat, Sílvia Paneque, and the Secretary of State for Transport, José Antonio Santano, to review the action plan.
