The reform's main objective is to "stitch together" the terminal's various growth stages and adapt it to current needs. According to the director of El Prat, Eva Valenzuela, who detailed this at a press conference on Friday, the investment will not lead to an increase in passenger capacity.
Valenzuela compared the scale of these actions to those carried out in pre-Olympic Barcelona in 1989. The renovation of electromechanical elements has already begun, and the rest of the works are expected to be completed before 2032.
