The utility company Aguas de Barcelona hosted the 5th Social Services Dialogue Forum in Barcelona this March, bringing together 16 metropolitan municipalities to tackle energy poverty.

The collaboration focuses on the social water rate, which currently supports over 68,000 households. This represents a significant increase from the 64,600 homes covered at the end of 2024, ensuring universal access to water for those in precarious situations.

"Ecological transformation cannot be achieved without social cohesion. We must listen to Social Services and work together."

Felipe Campos · CEO of Aguas de Barcelona
The forum highlighted the Hogares a Punto (Homes Ready) program, which identifies and fixes water leaks in low-income housing. By partnering with organizations like Formació i Treball, the initiative also provides vocational training in plumbing, helping more than 10,000 people through various social actions in 2025.
