The Alimentaria exhibition has opened its 50th anniversary edition at Fira Gran Via, showcasing 3,300 companies and reinforcing Spain's position as a global food exporter.

Founded in 1976, the fair has evolved into a major international hub. This year, foreign participation has surged, with 1,200 companies from 65 countries occupying 40% more exhibition space than in previous editions.

"The project is to keep growing, with an eye on the new Fira pavilion currently under construction."

Organizers expect 110,000 visitors, with 25% arriving from international markets. While global conflicts in the Middle East raise concerns over production costs, the sector remains focused on innovation and expanding into new territories like America and China.
