Lawyer and former deputy Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas has gathered the necessary endorsements to run in Junts' primaries in Barcelona, aiming to be the mayoral candidate in the 2027 municipal elections.

Junts' former deputy in the Congress and Parliament, Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas, confirmed this Friday that he has secured sufficient support from the party's membership to participate in the internal primary process in the Catalan capital.
Via the social media platform X, Alonso-Cuevillas expressed his gratitude: “Happy and excited. We have achieved the necessary endorsements to participate in the Junts primaries! Thank you very much to everyone!”.
The lawyer also reiterated his desire for the internal process to be a space for constructive debate. “As I have defended in recent days, all four of us should be able to confront ideas, projects, and visions,” he stated, referring to the potential candidates vying for the nomination.
