A group of Basic 1 students from CPNL L'Heura visited the Castellers de Santa Coloma on September 27th to learn about the human tower tradition.

The students learned about the different parts of a 'castell' (human tower), the role of each participant, and the values of strength, balance, courage, and 'seny' (common sense) that underpin this tradition. They had the opportunity to participate in a practice session, trying out positions like 'lateral' and 'contrafort' to experience firsthand how a tower is built.
The visit also included an introduction to the role of the 'grallers' (musicians) and highlighted that a 'colla castellera' (human tower group) is a community where trust, safety, and collaboration are essential, offering a space where everyone can find their place.

"We trust that, now that they know Castellers de Santa Coloma, they can join!"
