These awards, chosen directly by the affiliated bookstores, maintain the six usual categories: Catalan literature, other literatures, illustrated album, children's and youth literature in Catalan, children's and youth literature from other languages, and essay, thought, and other narratives.
In the Catalan literature section, Animals inexpressius by Xavier Mas Craviotto, Sau by Ferran Garcia, and Virgil by Quim Español stand out. These works have been selected for their stylistic rigor and their capacity for reflection on themes such as memory, folklore, and moral fragility.
The other literatures category includes Jamila by the Kyrgyz Txinguiz Aitmàtov, Si no fos per les síl·labes de dissabte by the Brazilian Mariana Salomão Carrara, and Cop de llum by the American Rita Bullwinkel, all translated into Catalan.
Regarding the illustrated album, the nominees are Ingràvida by Fran Pintadera and Raquel Catalina, L’oficina d’en Walter by Jule Wellerdiek, and El racó de pensar by Pieter Van den Heuvel. In the children's and youth literature from other languages section, the selected works are El gegant de ferro by Ted Hughes, Kiki, servei de missatgeria màgica by Eiko Kadono, and D’aquí a vint-i-quatre segons by Jason Reynolds.
Finally, in the essay, thought, and other narratives category, the nominated titles are La lluita pel domini de la Mediterrània by historian David Abulafia, La pregunta 7 by Richard Flanagan, and La passió dels estranys by philosopher Marina Garcés.
In addition to the literary awards, the event will also serve to pay tribute to those individuals who have dedicated thirty-five years to the bookselling profession, recognizing their trajectory and commitment to the sector.
