The ordinary September plenary session at the Casa de la Vila has approved the signing of an Addendum to the Collaboration Agreement between the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and the Badalona City Council. This addendum, valid for four years (September 26, 2026, to September 25, 2030) with a maximum budget of €729,200.00, will allow individuals aged 60 to 64 registered in Badalona to access public transport in the AMB under more favorable conditions. Social tariffs will be applied proportionally based on each beneficiary's financial resources.
The resolution was approved with favorable votes from the PP, PSC, ERC, and BeCP groups, while the Guanyem group abstained.
In the same session, the regulatory bases for the Badabons Program 2026 (Autumn Edition) were approved. This program, aimed at promoting local consumption through co-financed shopping vouchers by the City Council, marks its second edition this year. The regulations stipulate that consumers over 18 years old can purchase vouchers for a maximum purchase capacity of €100, contributing 60% of the value (€60) while the City Council subsidizes the remaining 40% (€40).
The Badabons can be used at participating establishments in Badalona (retail shops, personal services, restaurants, and market stalls) during the designated autumn period. The City Council will allocate €400,000 to this edition, which is expected to generate up to €1 million in purchases at local businesses.
The objective of this initiative is to encourage local consumption and revitalize the city's commercial fabric, coinciding with ongoing urban reform and improvement projects. The autumn campaign is strategically timed before Black Friday and the Christmas season.
This second edition of the Badabons continues the municipal policy of supporting local commerce. The resolution was also approved with favorable votes from the PP, PSC, ERC, and BeCP groups, with Guanyem abstaining.
