Badalona aims to break world record for largest KO basketball tournament

The city of Badalona will host on Saturday, September 19 an attempt to break the world record for the largest KO basketball tournament in history, organized by the City Council and acb with the collaboration of Endesa.

The event will take place at Plaça del President Tarradellas, in the Fan Zone area of the Supercopa Endesa, and aims to surpass the current Guinness World Record of 711 participants. Registrations are now open for this initiative that marks the start of a weekend where Badalona will become the epicenter of Spanish basketball, also hosting the Spanish Supercopa with teams such as Asisa Joventut, Kosner Baskonia, Valencia Basket, and Barça.
The challenge will consist of a massive KO game, an elimination-style competition where participants take turns shooting and eliminate an opponent if they score before them. This activity is designed for people of all ages and skill levels, with no prior experience required, encouraging participation from any basketball fan.
This initiative reinforces Badalona's historical connection with basketball, consolidating the city as a sporting benchmark. The event will begin with access opening at 9:30 AM and the tournament starting at 10:30 AM.

"The winner of the largest KO Tournament in history by Endesa will receive a double pass for the Copa del Rey in Valencia 2027, including travel and accommodation."
