The initiative, jointly produced by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and L’Auditori, will feature performances starting at 9 PM on a stage set up on the sand in Barceloneta.
On the first day, Wednesday, July 8th, the Orquestra del Gran Teatre del Liceu, conducted by Josep Pons, will perform emblematic symphonic works. The following day, Thursday, July 9th, it will be the turn of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), led by Ludovic Morlot, presenting 'An Imaginary Symphony' with pieces by Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, and Tchaikovsky.
The concerts are free, open to everyone, and include a dedicated space for people with reduced mobility. Additionally, beteve will broadcast the performances live on TDT and its website, presented by journalist Laura Sangrà.
As part of the commitment to bring music to all audiences, the choirs of the Escola Coral de l’Orfeó Català will hold special performances on June 10th at Grup Assistencial Evangèlic and Residència Augusta Park, and on June 15th at Hospital del Mar.
This initiative is part of Barcelona Obertura, a project aimed at internationally promoting the city through classical music.
