The fifth edition of the Sr i Sra Cake competition was held this Wednesday in Barcelona, recognizing the finest artisanal Easter cakes in Catalonia and supporting a local pediatric charity project.

L'Espiga d'Or from Vilanova i la Geltrú secured the award for the best traditional 'Mona', a brioche-based cake. Natcha in Barcelona and Forn de Cabrianes followed in the rankings, with judges praising the balance of spices and texture in the winning entry.
In the chocolate category, La Colmena, located in the heart of Barcelona, claimed the top spot with a pirate-themed parrot sculpture. Other notable mentions included L'Atelier Barcelona and Mimpi from Sabadell, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship in the region.

"We are very happy; seeing the table with all the cakes, this was totally unexpected as the competition was very strong."
