The Barcelona City Council's Government Commission has given its final approval to the remodeling project for Sant Adrià and Otger streets, located in the Sant Andreu district, aiming to create a new single-platform axis.

This initiative, which received initial approval in early February, has completed all necessary procedures for its execution. Works are scheduled to commence during the third quarter of 2026 and are estimated to last approximately 15 months. The city council will allocate an investment of 3.5 million euros to this project.
The main purpose of the reform is to establish a single-platform axis connecting the Fabra i Coats area with Can Fabra square. This transformation will include the creation of new resting spaces where pedestrians will have greater prominence. Vehicle traffic will be restricted exclusively to residents and services. It is worth noting that, since June 2023, the section of Sant Adrià street between Otger and Segre was already closed to road traffic due to the installation of a temporary marquee for the Sant Andreu Market.

"The reform will allow the creation of a civic axis in the heart of the neighborhood, in an area with a lot of activity, where there is a library and where many children pass through."

Marta Villanueva · Councillor for Sant Andreu
According to the Councillor for Sant Andreu, the new street layout will favor permeability between both sides of Sant Adrià street, making the connection between the two sides "much more pleasant, green, and accessible".
