The Barcelona City Council approved on Thursday the urbanization project for the Vallcarca Central Park, a 10,000-square-meter green area designed to improve the neighborhood's climate resilience and public space.

The project, located near the Vallcarca Viaduct, will feature urban gardens, children's play areas, and accessible paths connecting Farigola and Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer streets. Construction is expected to continue until late 2027, transforming the area into a major local landmark.

"The boost to the Central Park and the bidding for new public housing are two very important milestones for the neighborhood."

Laia Bonet · First Deputy Mayor
Simultaneously, the city has launched the bidding process for 47 public housing units across two buildings on Farigola and Mare de Déu del Coll streets. This initiative is part of a broader plan to provide 500 affordable homes in the Vallcarca area.
