The city of Barcelona is hosting the inaugural 'Croqueta Crush' gastronomic festival this weekend at the Poble Espanyol.

From today until May 25th, seven restaurants will compete for the title of the city's best croqueta. Each establishment will present three offerings: a classic croqueta, an author's croqueta, and a signature tapa from their own menu.
The event, aiming to make the popular tapa the star, will also feature DJ sets, workshops, and children's activities, creating a comprehensive culinary experience.
Among the participants are Rooster & Bubles, offering a 'rotisserie chicken' croqueta and a pulled pork version; La Martita, featuring Iberian ham with truffle and a squid ink croqueta; and Casa Rafuel, with a roasted chicken and ham croqueta and a 'gorgonzola' cheese option.
Also present will be Bodega Borràs, with creations like red prawn and 'txuletón'; La Fonda de Pirineicas, known for its omelets, will present roasted chicken and Peking duck croquetas; Casa Pince, with wild mushroom and red prawn options; and Cinco Hermanos, showcasing traditional dishes.
General admission with a tasting menu costs approximately 9 euros, while special workshops, such as cocktail or beer-making classes, can increase the price up to 30 euros.
