The Barcelona City Council has urged residents to stay at home this Thursday as the city prepares for extreme wind gusts that could exceed 100 kilometers per hour.

Mayor Jaume Collboni announced the suspension of the Bicing bike-sharing service and the cancellation of all Santa Eulàlia festival events. Schools and non-urgent medical appointments have also been postponed across Catalonia due to the arrival of storm Nils.

"Meteorologists inform us that the city will experience an exceptionally complicated moment tomorrow regarding the wind."
