The new space, linked to the Centre Esportiu Municipal Joan Miró, was created to bring high-performance methodologies to the general public. Through data analysis, the center seeks to offer personalized recommendations on exercise, nutrition, and recovery, adapting to the specific needs of each individual.
The project is part of the Barcelona Innova Lab Sports, an initiative that fosters collaboration between academia, the business sector, and municipal sports facilities. The goal is to transform the traditional model of physical activity into a system based on scientific knowledge and prevention.
The laboratory uses physiological tests and biomarkers to evaluate parameters such as cardiovascular capacity, metabolism, and strength. This information allows professionals to design more precise training strategies, promoting user autonomy in making decisions about their own health.
MIRÓLAB is defined as an open space for collaboration with universities and companies in the technology and sports sectors. Its lines of work include validating new prevention methodologies and studying physiological differences, with the aim that the results obtained can be applied to other facilities in the city.
