The city of Barcelona becomes the stage for the official start of the Tour de France this Saturday, with a team time trial stage that will pass through iconic points of the Catalan capital.

The world's most prestigious cycling competition begins its route in the Catalan capital with a 19.6-kilometer team time trial format. The course starts at the Plataforma Marina del Fòrum and ends at the Estadi Olímpic, passing through landmarks such as the Sagrada Família and passeig de Gràcia.
The race's passage through Catalonia will last for three days. After the opening day in Barcelona, a stage between Tarragona and the capital will take place on Sunday, while on Monday the race will move towards the Vallès Oriental, Osona, Ripollès, and Cerdanya regions before crossing the border into France.
The event involves a significant security and mobility plan. In Barcelona, the time trial circuit will remain closed to traffic during the afternoon, with parking restrictions and public transport diversions. The use of the metro is recommended for urban travel.
Traffic disruptions will continue on Sunday along the coastal corridor and on Monday on various inland and Pyrenees roads, such as the C-17 and N-260. An operation consisting of more than 4,500 police officers will ensure the smooth running of the cycling event.
