This figure already exceeds the 45 torrid nights recorded in 2022, which until now held the maximum for the 20 years of available data, according to Meteocat. A torrid night is defined by a minimum temperature equal to or greater than 25 degrees Celsius.
In 2007, no nights of this nature were recorded. It should be noted that the Raval station was installed in October 2006, meaning it could not measure the conditions of the exceptionally hot summer of 2003.
In parallel, the Barcelona - Can Bruixa station has accumulated 48 torrid nights as of August 13th, also surpassing the 47 nights from 2022 and the 51 recorded at that location.
