Barcelona has completed this weekend the hosting of two stages of the 2026 Tour de France, an event that mobilized thousands of people and took place without any notable incidents.

The Catalan capital was the setting for the start of the cycling competition. The first day consisted of a team time trial of 19.6 kilometers that connected the Fòrum with Montjuïc. In this inaugural race, 120,000 people lined the circuit to watch the athletes pass.
The second stage arrived in the city from L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, passing through iconic spots such as Carrer de Sants and Plaça d'Espanya, ending at the Olympic Promenade. The race finish was very close, with a final arrival in Montjuïc that stood out for its intensity.

"We are happy, exultant, for the success of participation. It has been the greatest event since the '92 Olympic Games."

Jaume Collboni · Mayor of Barcelona
The organization highlighted the city's ability to adapt to the needs of the race, despite the high temperatures recorded during these days. The authorities thanked the collaboration of the citizens, volunteers, and clubs involved in the smooth running of the sporting event.
