The Dragon Gate of the Güell Estate Pavilions in Barcelona will undergo restoration with a 203,000 euro investment, a collaborative effort between Barcelona City Council and the World Monument Found, with works scheduled between 2026 and 2027.

Barcelona City Council has announced its involvement in the restoration of the iconic Dragon Gate, located at the Güell Estate Pavilions. The council will contribute 116,000 euros to the total project cost, which amounts to approximately 203,000 euros.
The remaining funding will be provided by the World Monument Found, an entity that collaborates closely with the University of Barcelona (UB) on heritage conservation projects. This alliance will enable a comprehensive intervention on one of the most emblematic elements of Barcelona's Modernisme.
Restoration works are scheduled to begin in 2026 and are expected to be completed before December 31, 2027. The project will follow the plan developed by the Municipal Institute of Urban Landscape and Quality of Life (IMPUiQV).
The project includes the restoration of the wrought-iron gate, the adjacent masonry structures that frame it, the orange tree crowning the right side, the pedestrian gate, and the bell located on the left side, ensuring a complete recovery of its original splendor.
