The Association of Relatives and Friends of Oncological Children of Catalonia (Afanoc) is celebrating the 15th anniversary of Casa dels Xuklis in Barcelona, a facility that has hosted 1,000 families.

Located in the Montbau neighborhood, near Vall d'Hebron and Sant Joan de Déu hospitals, the house features 25 private apartments. Since 2011, it has served as a vital resource for families traveling from outside the metropolitan area for long-term pediatric cancer treatments.

"I am very lucky. Being able to see my siblings and the afternoons with volunteers who make us very happy is a privilege."

Irene · House resident
The building is sustained by civil society donations, with an annual operating cost of 15,000 euros per room. Beyond housing, the center provides psychological support and recreational workshops, aiming to maintain a sense of normalcy for families during challenging times.
