The Castelldefels City Council, in collaboration with the Mossos d'Esquadra, has organized a special operation for the Sant Joan vigil, aiming to minimize incidents. Security will be particularly reinforced around Plaça de les Palmeres, following last year's events.
Traffic diversions are planned for the Passeig Marítim and several street parking areas. The police operation will include personnel from the Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, and private security, supported by the Maritime Police unit and aerial resources. A medical service will also be set up at the Castelldefels Platja station.
The Local Police will deploy a canine unit for drug detection and will intensify alcohol breathalyzer checks. A Punt Lila (Purple Point) will be established to prevent sexist and LGTBI-phobic violence, and the 'Safe Routes' initiative connecting entertainment areas to the city's two Renfe train stations will be reactivated.
The City Council reminds the public that bonfires are prohibited throughout the municipality, with the sole exception of the institutional bonfire at La Muntanyeta. Lighting fires on the beach is also forbidden to protect the natural environment. Pyrotechnics are permitted responsibly outside forest areas and at least 500 meters away.
The Passeig Marítim will be closed to traffic from 9 PM on June 23rd until 10 AM on June 24th. Bridges and parking areas will also be affected. Beach cleaning operations will commence at 6:30 AM on Wednesday, June 24th.
