Cerdanyola del Vallès is preparing to experience the most significant moments of Holy Week this Good Friday, April 3, with a Way of the Cross connecting two parishes and a central procession featuring the most revered images.

The Holy Week program in Cerdanyola del Vallès reaches its peak this Good Friday. The main events include the Way of the Cross and the procession with the images of Jesus of Nazareth, Our Lady of Sorrows, and Saint John the Evangelist, which are the most anticipated events for the faithful.
The celebrations began last Palm Sunday, with a notable attendance, and continued on Holy Wednesday, when hundreds of people accompanied the image of Jesus Captive through the streets of the municipality.
The morning Way of the Cross, starting at 10:00 AM, will connect the parishes of Sant Martí and Mare de Déu del Roser. This year, the procession will depart from the Roser parish, with several stops along the route for readings of religious texts.
In the afternoon, at 5:30 PM, the central procession will take place. The images of Jesus of Nazareth, Our Lady of Sorrows, and Saint John the Evangelist will depart from Abat Oliba Square and proceed slowly and coordinately through various streets. Each image will be carried by a group of 'costalers' and 'madrinas', who will take turns during the journey.
Women dressed in black will lead the passage of the Dolorosa, setting the order of the procession. At the end of the route, the images will converge at the same point in Abat Oliba Square, where the bearers will perform ritual dances, with coordinated movements of approach and turning before concluding the procession.
