The company, a pioneer in developing neuroplasticity modulators for Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, has been led by Clave Capital through its fund Innvierte Science Tech Clave Innohealth, F.C.R., with support from existing investors Inveready, CDTI Innvierte, and Prous Institute for Biomedical Research.
These funds will drive the development of CTH120 in adult men with Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), currently in Phase IIa. According to Jordi Fàbrega, co-founder and CEO of CONNECTA Therapeutics, the Phase IIa results, expected by mid-2027, will demonstrate CTH120's potential to improve patients' quality of life.
The Phase IIa trial, initiated in June 2026 at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (HMRIB) and the Institut d’Investigació i Innovació Fundació Parc Taulí (I3PT), evaluates the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of CTH120 in 30 randomized adult men with FXS. The study also aims to identify biomarkers in collaboration with the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and is funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the NextGenerationEU program.
CONNECTA is also preparing the development of CTH120 in pediatric patients through the FRAXCURE project.
Ignacio Prieto Fernández, associate investor at Clave Capital, highlighted the company's innovative approach and experienced team. Sara Secall, general partner at Inveready, emphasized the confidence in the team and the drug's potential since the seed phase.
As part of the financing, Ignacio Prieto Fernández will join CONNECTA's Board of Directors as a representative of Clave Capital.
