Crime linked to repeat offenders drops by 8.5% in Barcelona

Interior Minister Núria Parlon and Mayor Jaume Collboni announced this Friday in Barcelona that crimes linked to repeat offenders fell by 8.5% during 2025.

The overall number of criminal offenses in the city decreased by 6.1%, reaching the lowest levels since 2016, excluding the pandemic years. Total crimes dropped from 180.000 in 2024 to approximately 169.000 last year.

Property crimes fell by 7%, with burglaries seeing a sharp 19.8% decline. Conversely, drug trafficking reports rose by 27% as a result of increased police activity and the dismantling of 165 sales points across the city.
