The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has concluded the security operation for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with only 30 reported crimes, marking a 49% decrease compared to the previous year.

This edition of the MWC has proven to be the safest in the last five years. According to data provided by the Catalan police, thefts remained the primary offense with 16 cases, although this category saw a sharp 65% decline compared to 2025.
One notable incident involved the theft of a professional camera valued at 4,000 euros. Two plainclothes officers apprehended the suspect and immediately returned the equipment to the congress attendee.

"The joint and coordinated work carried out by all police forces, Mossos d'Esquadra, Barcelona and l'Hospitalet City Police, has contributed to the smooth running of the event."
