Tasked by Alberto Núñez Feijóo to run again as mayoral candidate, Sirera appealed to "Barcelonian pride" to try and reclaim the mayor's office. He recalled his role in removing Ada Colau from government and preventing an independentist mayor, stating that Collboni has not seized the opportunity to govern the city.
Sirera identifies insecurity, high rental prices, and elevated taxes as Barcelona's main problems. The president of the popular municipal group stated that Barcelonian pride is lost "with every ignored problem, with every broken promise".
The pre-campaign event, dubbed "Barcelona, seriously," was held in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, a district where the PP has won the last three elections. Sirera expressed confidence that if they win in this neighborhood, they can win across the city and "Barcelona will be Barcelona again".
The popular candidate accused Collboni of neglecting key issues such as security, local commerce, coexistence, and families. Although criminal offenses have decreased, Sirera highlighted that 400 robberies and four sexual assaults occur daily, along with five recent violent deaths.
Regarding security, Sirera promised more police, the implementation of Taser guns for the Guàrdia Urbana, and more surveillance cameras. On housing, he committed to eliminating the 30% reservation for public housing and encouraging public-private collaboration. He also advocated for reducing hurdles for local businesses and commerce.
