The 9th edition of the Dansa Metropolitana festival has launched in Barcelona and its metropolitan area with a performance focused on combating ageism.

The opening piece, titled Elles, was directed by Hansel Cereza and Barbarana Pons. This artistic proposal seeks to challenge social prejudices surrounding female aging, using dance as a tool for visibility.
The project stands out for its community involvement, featuring 70 women from various local groups. The festival will run until March 22nd, bringing contemporary dance to several municipalities across the metropolitan region.
This year's Dansa Metropolitana strongly supports female voices, significantly increasing the presence of women creators and choreographers in its official program.
