The arrest occurred during routine security checks on flights from routes with intensified surveillance to prevent drug trafficking into Spain and Europe. Officers noticed a passenger exhibiting nervous behavior and providing inconsistent answers to their questions.
Due to these suspicions, the passenger was taken to the Tax Agency's Customs facilities for a thorough search of his luggage. During the inspection, 26 blocks of a whitish, compact substance were found inside his two suitcases.
Preliminary tests ('drogo-test') confirmed the substance was cocaine. The total weight of the seized drugs amounted to 31.093 kilograms. Consequently, officers proceeded to arrest the man, who is accused of a crime against public health.
Subsequently, judicial authority has ordered the detainee's provisional imprisonment.
