On the second day of the consultation for teachers regarding the pact with the Department of Education, protests continued this Tuesday morning. Unions such as the CGT mobilized through the streets of Barcelona, occupying them with banners and tables to express their rejection of the agreement. The most notable concentration took place in front of Casa Batlló, where teachers gathered chanting slogans like 'Niubó, dimissió' (Niubó, resignation).
Other messages heard in the streets of the city center included 'May inclusion not be an illusion' and 'Fighting is also educating'. The mobilization, which already brings together dozens of people, is expected to grow throughout the day.
Bicycle rides have also been organized throughout the city. One of the marches started from Fabra i Puig with a hundred participants, blocking the Meridiana avenue as it entered Barcelona. Another march was planned from the Campana area, on Gran Vía. The forecast is for all the bicycle rides to converge on Passeig de Gràcia around nine in the morning.
The unions maintaining the educational strike, such as the CGT, Intersindical, and COS, have joined forces with the CNT and the Assemblea Educativa de Catalunya to organize a unified demonstration. This march is scheduled to depart from the Palau Robert and arrive at the headquarters of the Consorci de Barcelona.
