The event, which took place after the religious service, began with the entrance of the Drac (Dragon) into the square, followed by the 'diables' (devils) and the rest of the procession. The Àliga (Eagle) and the Gegants (Giants) also performed their dances, concluding with the Cardona Music Band playing Els Segadors, and the arrival of the Falcons and castellers (human towers) groups.
This is the third Festa Major to implement a change in the order of the dance performances, prioritizing groups with their own specific pieces. The Drac, accompanied by Les Xirongues, presented the Dansa del foc (Fire Dance).
At ground level in the square, the Gegants danced the Minuet and the Valset, while the Àliga, on the raised platform, performed its namesake dance and the Ball Sant Julià.
The Nans (Dwarfs) performed at ground level with the Creuat and the new Ball nou dels Nans de Vilafranca, a melody replacing the traditional music of the Patum. The Cagrossos, on the platform, danced the Ram and the Berga, both with melodies newly arranged by the 'graller' (bagpiper) Ivó Jordà.
The Cotonines, featuring renewed costumes and pieces, presented their eponymous dance and El Nus from the platform. Subsequently, the short play 'sainet' of the Ball d’en Serrallonga and the Creuada was performed.
The Panderetes (Tambourines) offered their dance and the Jota, with partially renewed costumes this year. The Pastorets (Shepherds) performed the Cleda and the Pont i Bota, and the Cercolets (Little Hoops) performed the Ball rodó and the Ball de lluïment.
This year, the Ball de les Gitanes (Gypsy Dance) celebrates the 25th anniversary of its reinterpretation, presenting corresponding verses. The Ball Pla danced the Jota and a dance bearing its name.
The Figuetaires presented the Pastor 6, the Puntal, and the Passada. The twelfth group, the Ball de Bastons (Stick Dance), performed the Pavana, the Pastoret, and the Rotllet, and will attempt a record for 'pavanes' on the night of the 31st.
Finally, before the Diables, the Panderos (Drummers) dance performed the Ball llarg and the Calidoscopi.
