Doctors and teachers coordinated their protests this Friday in Barcelona, ending their respective marches at the Catalan Parliament to demand urgent improvements in public services.

The demonstration marks the end of a week of strikes for educators and a second day of action for medical staff. Both groups, represented by unions like Metges de Catalunya and USTEC, are calling for a reduction in the number of patients and students they handle daily to ensure quality service.

"We can unite all sectors that maintain the welfare state because we have very similar concerns."

The protesters also highlighted the burden of bureaucracy and the lack of investment from the Generalitat. While President Salvador Illa admitted more steps are needed, unions warned that mobilizations could continue throughout the spring if no real negotiations take place.
