The fire alert was received around 10:30 AM today. According to initial reports, the fire originated from the battery of an electric scooter that was being charged in a ground-floor unit on Estudi Street.
Six units from the Generalitat Firefighters were dispatched to the scene to combat the flames. The Emergency Medical System (SEM) also deployed seven units, who treated two individuals with moderate burns. These injured parties were transported to the Bellvitge University Hospital and Vall d’Hebron Hospital. Other individuals were assessed at the scene for possible smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization.
Firefighters indicated that the flames severely affected the pipes and utilities, rendering the building uninhabitable.
Municipal Social Services were present to support the affected individuals, assess their rehousing needs, and evaluate the building's condition. The local Guardia Urbana also dispatched several patrols to assist the Generalitat Firefighters.
