The incident occurred near the Moll de la Fusta, in an area close to the Military Government and at the end of La Rambla. A family was approached by an individual when the two soldiers, who were present, decided to act to assist the victims.
According to the General Inspectorate of the Army from Barcelona, Captain Ismael Bayón pursued, caught, and immobilized the aggressor. He then confronted a group attempting to free the detainee.

At this crucial moment, gunner Omany Guzmán came to his colleague's aid. Thanks to their joint effort, they managed to maintain control over the aggressor until the arrival of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), who took custody of the detainee.
Both the affected family and the regional police officers expressed their gratitude and congratulated the two soldiers for their bravery and effectiveness in resolving the incident.
