Drug Trafficking Network for 'Chemsex' Dismantled in Barcelona

Two individuals have been arrested in Eixample and Sants-Montjuïc for distributing substances in sexual encounters, with a significant seizure of drugs and cash.

A joint operation by the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guàrdia Urbana has led to the arrest of two men in Barcelona, accused of drug trafficking for sexual encounters, known as 'chemsex'.

The detainees, aged 39 and 45, were arrested in the Eixample and Sants-Montjuïc areas. One of them had already accumulated 15 previous arrests for similar offenses. Both appeared before a judge on Saturday, April 18.
The investigation began in May 2025, following the arrest of an individual with narcotic substances. This arrest allowed the police to locate a 'narcopiso' (drug flat) in Eixample and identify the origin of the drugs. To avoid detection, the traffickers used tourist or temporary flats, staying for only three or four days.
During the raids conducted on April 16 in two homes and a storage unit in Eixample, agents confiscated a wide variety of drugs. Among the seized substances were over 230 grams of ketamine, 52 grams of tusi, 213 grams of mephedrone, 250 grams of methamphetamine, over 17 grams of MDMA, over 90 ecstasy pills, over 23 grams of cocaine, 346 grams of crystal, four liters of GHB, 19 bottles of popper, and nine doses of LSD.
In addition to the drugs, the police also seized several precision scales, tools for handling and dosing substances, and a total of 27,825 euros in cash.
