A police operation at a residence on Avinguda del Puig Castellar led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man, accused of a public health offense. The Investigation Unit of the Mossos d'Esquadra detected clear signs of drug trafficking, prompting a request for judicial authorization to search the property and an associated storage unit.
During the search, conducted this Thursday, a substantial quantity of substances prepared for distribution was confiscated: 28.9 kilograms of hashish and 0.7 kilograms of marijuana. Packaging materials, such as vacuum sealing machines, industrial bags, and labels, were also found. Additionally, several controlled substances, including nitrous oxide ('laughing gas') canisters, precision scales, and mobile devices – items commonly linked to drug trafficking – were seized.
Initial investigations suggest the residence functioned as a drug 'nursery,' used for storing and dividing narcotics before distribution in smaller quantities. The estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds 201,000 euros.
The arrested individual has been handed over to the on-duty court in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The investigation remains open to clarify any potential connections to this criminal activity.
