Tenor Masini Street, in the Sants-Montjuïc district, will undergo comprehensive redevelopment to enhance accessibility and public space quality, transforming it into a single platform with pedestrian priority.

The Barcelona City Council has approved the redevelopment project for Tenor Masini Street, located in the Sants-Montjuïc district. This initiative aims to completely renovate this thoroughfare, situated between Sants Street and Violant d'Hongria Street, to improve accessibility, optimize mobility, and elevate the quality of public space. As announced by the council, the intervention seeks to update a street that currently presents significant accessibility limitations, adapting it to the contemporary needs of the neighborhood.
The renovation will transform virtually the entire street into a single platform, granting priority to pedestrians. This measure will involve reducing the space allocated to vehicles, thereby fostering more comfortable, safe, and accessible routes for all citizens.
The estimated cost for the works amounts to approximately 2.24 million euros. The Sants-Monjuïc district plans to tender the contracts for the work to commence in the winter of 2027, with an estimated duration of twelve months.
This redevelopment aligns with the objective of pacifying a street with both residential and commercial use, enhancing its urban quality and promoting better coexistence among the various uses of public space. The intervention will cover an area exceeding 3,000 square meters, incorporating new seating areas, updated street furniture, and an overall improvement in environmental quality.
Additionally, the signage will be renewed, the placement of waste containers will be reorganized, and a new hydrant will be installed at the intersection with Rosés Street to bolster safety conditions during intense rainfall events.
