Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has announced a special operation for the Sant Joan night. The metro service will run continuously for 43 hours, starting from 5:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23rd, until midnight on Wednesday, June 24th. This measure will allow citizens to travel without interruption throughout the festival night and the subsequent public holiday.
The detailed schedule for the special metro service is as follows: Monday, June 22nd, service will extend until 00:00 AM; Tuesday, June 23rd, the metro will operate non-stop throughout the night; and Wednesday, June 24th, service will conclude at 00:00 AM.
The Sant Joan festival is one of the most crowded nights of the year in Barcelona, with thousands of people gathering on beaches and other city spots. For this reason, authorities recommend using public transport to avoid traffic congestion, particularly on the night of June 23rd.
This extension of metro service has become a regular measure during Sant Joan celebrations, forming part of Barcelona's mobility plan for major festive events, such as La Mercè or New Year's Eve.
