The fifth edition of the Unicorns Pride Ebre festival brought together hundreds of people in Roquetes, reaffirming its position as a benchmark for rural pride in the Terres de l'Ebre region. The event, organized by Assoc. Cultural i LGBTI+ Okay Productions and the Roquetes City Council, with support from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Consell Comarcal del Baix Ebre, has transformed the city into a space for advocacy, culture, and diversity.
The day began with a massive parade through the streets of Roquetes, featuring the participation of hundreds of people, entities, and collectives. Seven floats and groups filled the procession with color, music, and messages of protest, making it one of the most participatory in the festival's history.
The float and group competition was one of the highlights. The jury, composed of godmothers Maite and Gemma, and the mayor of Roquetes, Ivan Garcia Maigi, awarded creativity, originality, and messages of diversity and inclusion. The first prize for floats went to Feel Rouge (Feel Dance), followed by TutiFruti (Patronat de Festes de Roquetes), and Toni Rovira y Tú as a finalist. In the groups category, UTO/UGT won first prize for their visibility of intersectionality and the strength of their messages.
The celebration continued at the main venue with thousands of attendees in a festive and activist atmosphere. The Pride Market, parallel activities, and the high-heel race completed an inclusive program, reinforcing Okay Productions' commitment to a festival model rooted in the territory.
The main stage hosted a diverse artistic lineup, with notable performances including MAYO, the headliner, who thrilled the audience with a powerful stage presence. Hugo Marlo moved the crowd with 'Agafa’m la mà', the festival's official song, a symbol of community and visibility. Otem made an energetic debut, and local artists such as Luzbel de Montiel, Frida la Ter, and Cristina Monllau captivated the audience. The program concluded with the 'Bingo amb ploma' by Zafiro d’Or and Vayatella Bersatxe, and DJ sets by EliG DJ and Lisa Queer DJ.
The edition featured significant institutional representation, including the Secretary of Equality of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Gina Pol; the Director of Territorial Services for Equality and Feminisms, Mercè Guirao; and the President of the Consell Comarcal del Montsià, Sergi Guimerà, who supported the project.
The mayor of Roquetes, Ivan Garcia Maigi, celebrated the success, stating that "Roquetes has established itself as the leading city for rural pride in Catalonia". He thanked Okay Productions for making possible a project that "transforms, gives visibility, and places Roquetes and the Terres de l'Ebre on the map of diversity and culture".
The organizing body, Okay Productions, highly valued the public's response, confirming the definitive consolidation of Unicorns Pride Ebre as a key event for rural pride in Catalonia.
