The facility, managed by the municipal company BSM, has adapted the daily routines of the species housed in Parc de la Ciutadella. Measures focus on improving hydration, adjusting feeding, and constantly refreshing bathing areas.
Implemented actions include increasing water points and frequently cleaning drinking troughs. Additionally, bathing areas and mud wallows have been enabled, which are essential for the thermoregulation of animals such as tortoises and warthogs.
To combat high temperatures, center staff also provide food in frozen formats and use hoses or sprinklers to directly cool certain species. In indoor areas, ventilation systems have been reinforced to optimize climate control.
