The Guardia Urbana de Barcelona intercepted a driver in the Horta-Guinardó district on Saturday morning who was operating a modified electric scooter capable of reaching 92 km/h, far exceeding legal limits.

A patrol from the Guardia Urbana de Barcelona (GUB) detected and stopped the personal mobility vehicle (PMV) during the morning of Saturday in the Horta-Guinardó district. The electric scooter had been modified to greatly exceed the maximum speed allowed for such vehicles, as it was capable of reaching 92 km/h.
Upon identification, officers confirmed that the man was speeding and, furthermore, had never obtained a driving license. The situation worsened when the driver was subjected to alcohol and drug tests, testing positive for both substances.

An electric scooter capable of reaching 92 km/h is legally considered a motor vehicle, and driving it without a license and under the influence of substances constitutes a serious offense against road safety.

As a result of the multiple infractions, the driver was investigated for two separate crimes against road safety: one for driving a vehicle requiring a license without ever having obtained one, and the other for doing so under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
