Electric scooter caught traveling at 92 km/h in Barcelona

The driver, who tested positive for alcohol and drugs, was operating the vehicle without a license.

The Barcelona City Police intercepted an electric scooter driver traveling at 92 km/h through the Horta-Guinardó district last Saturday morning, four times the legal speed limit.

The incident took place last Saturday morning in the Horta-Guinardó district of Barcelona. A Guàrdia Urbana patrol detected a man riding a personal mobility vehicle (PMV) at a speed of 92 km/h.
Upon stopping the driver, officers confirmed that the vehicle was traveling at nearly four times the authorized limit of 25 km/h. Furthermore, the police discovered that the individual had never obtained a driver's license.
The driver tested positive for both alcohol and drugs during the roadside inspection. He is now under investigation for a road safety crime and for operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances.
