A butane cylinder explosion in a residential building in the Poblenou neighborhood of Barcelona caused a fire and left a total of eleven people injured, two of whom required hospital transfer.

The incident, which occurred at number 13 on Venero street, mobilized ten units of the Barcelona Fire Department, who quickly managed to extinguish the flames. According to municipal and Civil Protection sources, the explosion generated a fire that was promptly brought under control.
Among those affected, one person is in serious condition and another in less serious condition, both transferred to Vall d'Hebron Hospital. They are believed to be a mother and her daughter. Additionally, nine individuals sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
The 112 emergency service received 31 calls related to the explosion, the first of which was registered at 13:34. The Medical Emergency System (SEM) deployed nine ambulances to attend to the injured. Civil Protection activated the Procicat plan in pre-alert phase as a preventive measure.
